Generic donations
Clients will also be able to allocate funds to specific MAS as generic donations. For instance, client X can simply donate 5000 MAS tokens to MAS Y, to be expended by Y in whatever way it is deemed appropriate.
Generic donations closely resemble the traditional historical patronage relationship, where the client basically supports the content creator financial security, knowing that doing so, the content creator will make use of his or her creative talent without worrying about day-to-day living costs.
Generic donations are expected to take place when there is good acquaintance between a client and a MAS. However, for a generic donation to take place, there is no requirement of a previous working relationship between both.
In fact, every time a client subscribes to a bundle setup by a MAS, the amount of MAS tokens allocated is considered to be a generic donation. This means that, if for whatever reason the MAS does not deliver the benefits expected from the bundle, the contribution will be kept as a generic donation.
Naturally, for developing close connections with clients and a good reputation, MAS should fulfil as much as possible the expectations set in their bundles.
